Christmas Day Luncheon 2020

An institution at The Grange. A glass of champagne and canapés in the lounge, a delicious traditional Christmas lunch, followed by coffee and mince pies. Children’s menus are also available and include a gift from Father Christmas! Christmas Day lunch is served from 12.00 until 2.00 pm and we are open to non-residents.

Bookings are taken every half hour from 12.00 until 2.00 pm. The first time being 12.00 for 12.30 – you arrive at 12.00 for Champagne and Canapes in the lounge and will be taken to your table to start your meal at around 12.30 pm. Please enquire to find out what times we have left. We ask for a non-refundable deposit of £20.00 per person, when the booking is made.


A Christmas Stay

Christmas Eve
A warm welcome awaits you on Christmas Eve. Spend the afternoon unwinding in the lounge in front of the fire with a good book and a glass of something to take away the winter chill. Dinner in the evening is served in the restaurant overlooking the beautiful floodlit gardens. You might like to enjoy the splendid candle-lit Midnight Mass at nearby Sherborne Abbey; a night cap will await you on your return home in the early hours.
Christmas Day
After a restful night’s sleep, awake on Christmas morning feeling refreshed and ready for a tempting Grange breakfast. Once the presents are open, why not take a stroll around the pretty village of Oborne before you enjoy a traditional seven-course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Later, sink into a comfortable sofa for coffee, mince pies and a board game. If this sounds too energetic how about a little snooze in front of the fire? A buffet supper will be served in the evening, the perfect way to round off a wonderfully festive day.
Boxing Day
On Boxing Day, more eating is the order of the day! Breakfast, followed by a three course traditional luncheon, with a candle lit buffet supper in the evening. If you feel up to venturing out, how about a trip to nearby Montacute House & Gardens or a visit to Cerne Abbas to see the ‘Rude Man’ chalk carving or the Wessex Morris Men’s Christmas Party. Not energetic enough? You could take a trip to the coast for the West Bay Wallow, an annual fancy-dress swim around the marina at West Bay!

New Year Dinner Dance

The evening begins with a Champagne cocktail and canapés reception before the sumptuous eight-course meal. Elvis – due to popular demand back for his seventh consecutive year! – will be here to entertain you through the evening and to help you welcome the New Year while you dance under the starlight ceiling. The hotel is open to non-residents for our New Year’s Eve celebrations.

“Fabulous time”

We spent three nights over Xmas at the Grange. The owners and staff worked incredibly hard and nothing was ever too much trouble. Everyone went out of their way to make sure that the guests had a fabulous time.

“Like clockwork”

A group of just over 20 ladies, were seated in a beautifully decorated room, of just the right size.. The lunch went like clockwork. There was no waiting for certain meals to arrive and the staff were very efficient. For me, this must have been the best Christmas lunch (in a restaurant) that I have had in years.

Superb Boxing Day family lunch, even better than last year. Smooth efficient service, good atmosphere and ambiance, food absolutely perfect. A most pleasurable 3 hours spent in comfortable surroundings. We’ve already booked for next year!
